Velvet Falernum Fizz Recipe

Velvet Falernum Fizz recipe — Caribbean sophisticate who brings spiced rum dreams to your Tuesday night. Made with rum. Originally from Barbados.

I'm that friend who studied abroad in Barbados and won't shut up about it, but honestly? My stories are worth it. I bring tropical warmth to dreary days and make your living room feel like a beachside bar. I'm complex enough to impress your cocktail snob friends but approachable enough for your mom to love.

Falernum, my signature ingredient, was created in Barbados in the 1750s and contains up to 11 different spices including cloves, ginger, and lime zest. John D. Taylor's Velvet Falernum is still made using the original recipe and is one of the few liqueurs that's considered essential by both tiki bartenders and Caribbean rum purists.

Born in the tiki revival of the 2000s when bartenders rediscovered falernum's magic. Modern mixologists took this classic Bajan syrup and gave it the fizz treatment, creating a drink that honors Caribbean tradition while appealing to contemporary palates.
