I'm the drink equivalent of a sunset beach photo with Valencia filter. Sure, I might be a little predictable, but I've been making people feel like they're in Cancún since the '70s. I don't need to be complicated when I'm this photogenic.

The Tequila Sunrise became a global phenomenon after the Rolling Stones' 1972 tour was nicknamed the 'Cocaine and Tequila Sunrise Tour.' The Eagles even wrote a song about it in 1973, cementing its rock star status.

Created in the early 1970s by Bobby Lozoff and Billy Rice at the Trident bar in Sausalito, California. The drink caught fire when Mick Jagger discovered it and made it the Rolling Stones' unofficial tour drink.

Ingredients

• 2 oz silver tequila
• 4 oz fresh orange juice (freshly squeezed is best)
• 0.5 oz grenadine syrup (pour slowly for layered effect)
• 1 cup ice

Instructions

1. Fill highball glass with ice and add tequila and orange juice.
2. Slowly pour grenadine down the side of the glass so it sinks to the bottom.
3. Garnish with orange slice and cherry, serve with a straw.
