Despite its provocative name, Sex on the Beach was invented in 1987 by a bartender in Florida specifically to sell more peach schnapps and vodka during a sales competition. The name was chosen purely for shock value to make it memorable.

Created in 1987 by bartender Ted Pizio at the Confetti's bar in Fort Lauderdale during a peach schnapps sales contest. The outrageous name was designed to grab attention and boost sales, and it worked so well the drink became a global phenomenon.

Ingredients

• 1 oz vodka
• 1 oz peach schnapps
• 2 oz pineapple juice
• 2 oz cranberry juice
• 1 cup ice

Instructions

1. Fill highball glass with ice.
2. Add vodka and peach schnapps to glass.
3. Pour in pineapple juice and stir gently.
4. Slowly add cranberry juice to create a sunset effect.
5. Garnish with orange slice and cherry on a cocktail pick.
