Passionfruit Lemonade Recipe

Passionfruit Lemonade recipe — The overachiever who makes regular lemonade look like it gave up on life. Made with none. Originally from Brazil.

I'm the friend who shows up to your backyard BBQ looking effortlessly stunning while everyone else is in wrinkled t-shirts. I'm sweet but not clingy, tart but not bitter, and I make every moment feel like a tropical vacation. I don't need alcohol to be the life of the party—my personality is intoxicating enough.

Passionfruit got its name from Spanish missionaries in the 16th century who saw the flower's corona as representing Christ's crown of thorns. They clearly hadn't tasted the fruit yet, because there's nothing suffering about this tropical paradise in your mouth.

Passionfruit lemonade emerged from Brazilian beach culture in the 1960s when street vendors began mixing fresh maracujá with lime and sugar. It quickly became the unofficial drink of Copacabana, proving that sometimes the best combinations happen when tropical meets classic.
