Michelada Recipe

Michelada recipe — The hangover cure that doubles as the reason you need a hangover cure tomorrow. Made with beer. Originally from Mexico.

I'm the friend who shows up at 11 AM with solutions and zero judgment. Part bartender, part therapist, part hot sauce enthusiast. I believe every problem can be solved with beer, lime, and the right amount of spice.

In Mexico City, street vendors called 'micheladeros' have been perfecting secret spice blends for decades, and some recipes are passed down through generations like family heirlooms. The best ones guard their ingredient ratios more fiercely than state secrets.

Born in 1960s Mexico City when Michel Ésper started asking bartenders to add lime and salt to his beer at Club Deportivo Potosino. His custom order became so popular that other patrons started asking for 'Michel's lemonade' or 'Michelada.'
