Born from the classic margarita's marriage with Mexico's beloved mango, this tropical twist emerged in the 1980s as bartenders began experimenting with fresh fruit purees. The timing was perfect as mango imports to the US were booming.

Ingredients

• 2 oz silver tequila (100% agave preferred)
• 1 oz triple sec
• 1 oz fresh lime juice
• 3 oz mango puree (fresh or frozen)
• 1 tsp agave syrup (optional, to taste)
• 1 pinch salt
• 1 wheel lime (for garnish)
• 1 tsp tajín (for rim)

Instructions

1. Rim glass with lime juice and tajín seasoning.
2. Add all liquid ingredients to shaker with ice.
3. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds until well chilled.
4. Strain over fresh crushed ice and garnish with lime wheel.
