Hugo Spritz Recipe
Hugo Spritz recipe — The cool younger sibling of the Aperol Spritz. Made with prosecco. Originally from Italy.
Lighter, more floral, slightly mysterious. Less famous than its sibling but arguably more interesting.
Invented in 2005 in a small South Tyrol village. Went from obscure to Europe-wide sensation in under 10 years.
Ingredients
- 3 oz Prosecco (chilled)
- 1 oz Elderflower liqueur (St-Germain is the classic choice)
- 1 oz Soda water (a splash)
- Ice (plenty)
- 2 leaves Fresh mint (garnish)
- 1 Lime slice (garnish)
Instructions
- Fill a large wine glass with ice.
- Add elderflower liqueur, then pour in prosecco.
- Add a splash of soda water. Stir very gently once.
- Garnish with fresh mint and lime slice. Serve immediately.
