The Brain Hemorrhage shot became popular in the 1990s alongside the rise of extreme sports and shock television. Bartenders discovered that adding grenadine creates the realistic 'bleeding' effect that made this drink go viral decades before social media existed.

Created in American bars during the 1980s as part of the novelty shot craze. Bartenders were competing to create the most visually shocking drinks, and this grotesque masterpiece quickly spread from college towns to bars nationwide.

Ingredients

• 0.5 oz peach schnapps
• 0.25 oz vodka
• 0.25 oz Bailey's Irish cream (room temperature works best)
• 2-3 drops grenadine (for the hemorrhage effect)

Instructions

1. Pour peach schnapps into shot glass.
2. Slowly pour vodka over the back of a bar spoon to create a layer.
3. Very slowly drizzle Bailey's over spoon - it will curdle and look like brain matter.
4. Add 2-3 drops of grenadine through the center to create bleeding effect.
