Boulevardier recipe — The Manhattan's cooler cousin who studied abroad in Paris and won't shut up about it. Made with bourbon. Originally from France.
I'm sophisticated but not stuffy, preferring intimate conversation over small talk. I appreciate the finer things but won't judge you for your guilty pleasures. Think of me as your friend who always knows the best hidden speakeasy.
The Boulevardier was created by Erskine Gwynne, an American socialite who published a magazine called 'Boulevardier' in 1920s Paris. Hemingway and Fitzgerald were regular readers, making this literally the drink of the Lost Generation.
Born in 1927 when American expat Erskine Gwynne wanted a whiskey drink that felt at home in Parisian cafés. He simply swapped gin for bourbon in a Negroni and created liquid poetry.
