The Blue Lagoon was invented in 1972 at Harry's Bar in Paris by bartender Andy MacElhone, son of the famous Harry MacElhone. Despite its tropical appearance, it was actually created in the most un-tropical city imaginable.

Born at Harry's Bar in Paris in 1972, this electric blue beauty was the brainchild of Andy MacElhone. He wanted to create something visually striking that would photograph well, decades before Instagram made that a requirement for every drink.

  1. Fill hurricane glass with ice.
  2. Add vodka and blue curaçao to the glass.
  3. Top with lemonade and stir gently.
  4. Garnish with pineapple wedge and maraschino cherry.
