Black Russian Recipe

Black Russian recipe — Strong, silent type who gets straight to the point — no sugar-coating, just pure intensity. Made with vodka. Originally from Belgium.

I'm the strong, mysterious one who doesn't need small talk or fancy garnishes to make an impression. While others are busy being pretty, I'm busy being powerful. I prefer late nights, deep conversations, and people who appreciate substance over style.

The Black Russian was created in 1949 at the Hotel Metropole in Brussels for Perle Mesta, the U.S. Ambassador to Luxembourg. The bartender wanted to honor the American diplomat with a drink using Russian vodka during the height of Cold War tensions.

Bartender Gustave Tops created this drink in 1949 at Brussels' Hotel Metropole for American ambassador Perle Mesta. He combined Russian vodka with coffee liqueur, creating an ironically diplomatic drink during one of history's most tense political periods.
